Expansion Management Magazine rated The Center for Accelerated Technology Training as the country’s number one workforce training program in 2004.

A division of the South Carolina Technical College System, CATT works with companies that are starting up, expanding or relocating anywhere in South Carolina, providing a full range of facilitation services that include:

  • workforce recruiting and testing
  • curriculum and materials development
  • customized training
  • project management

Best of all, CATT's services are provided through state tax dollars at minimal or no cost to the qualifying client. Since 1961, CATT has trained 233,763 students for new jobs with 1,817 companies. In Newberry County, CATT has worked with 30 companies training 5,667 people.

In addition to CATT, continuing education programs at the state’s technical colleges provide the necessary on-going workforce development training that is crucial to the long-term success of a business or industry. As the designated providers of training to help keep the existing workforce up-to-date with changing technology and competitive in global markets, continuing education programs offer updating, upgrading and supervisory development training, both in-plant and on-campus.
